Last Thursday 6th July, our facilities in Cuarte de Huerva were affected by a big rain and hail storm coming from a “Supercell”. This is the name given to the “storm structure and isolated convective with a strong impact on the surface” which generates large hail, torrential rain and very strong winds, among other things.
This storm left more than 50 litres per square metre, causing significant material damage in the streets, with flooded buildings, vehicles rendered unusable, industrial buildings flooded, and affecting the nearest electricity transformer stations, which left the town of Cuarte de Huerva without electricity supply.
The human team of Fundiciones Río Ebro worked hard to minimise the effects of such a surprising and unexpected meteorological phenomenon and to continue with our industrial activity, leaving in our memory the extraordinary images of the consequences of the storm and the unusual “stoppage” of production, which will become part of the history of our company.
